Benji (“the App”) is a personal finance tracking application developed and operated by Benji App (“we”, “us”, “our”). General location (country) from App Store region
Anonymous usage data including device identifiers (IDFV), feature usage patterns, screen views, and app interaction events — collected via a third-party analytics service. This data is not linked to your identity.

Bank account numbers or login credentials
Credit card numbers
Government-issued identification numbers
Precise GPS location
Contacts, photos, or other device data

How We Store Your Data

Local Storage (On Your Device)

All data is stored locally on your device first. You can use Benji completely offline. Local data is encrypted using iOS/iPadOS data protection.

Cloud Sync (Optional)

If you create an account, your data can be synced to a cloud service to enable backup and multi-device access. Cloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest. If you enable cloud sync, your data may be stored on servers outside your country of residence.

You can use Benji without cloud sync by using Guest mode.

How We Use Your Data

To provide the core functionality of tracking your finances
To sync data across your devices (if you enable cloud sync)
To restore your data if you reinstall the app
To send payment reminders (if you enable notifications)
To improve app performance and fix bugs (via anonymous analytics)

We do not sell your personal or financial data to anyone.

We may share anonymised, aggregated statistics (such as “average number of expenses tracked”) to improve the app.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to support the app’s functionality, including account authentication, cloud data storage and backup, anonymous usage analytics, and market data such as currency exchange rates. These services may process data as described in their own privacy policies. No personal financial data is shared with these providers beyond what is necessary for the service to function.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access — request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
Correction — correct any inaccurate personal data

Data Retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.

Cloud data is retained until you delete your account. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

Optional biometric/PIN protection for app access
No plain-text passwords stored

Children’s Privacy

Benji is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
